About us
Interest in the teachings of the New Church in our town can be traced all the way back to the early years of the 19th century. The first service of worship as an organised church group was held in the town centre in 1882. New Church people have been meeting continuously in Colchester from that time onwards, for worship, instruction, discussion and social time together. We have recently changed our venue after more than 100 years in Maldon Road, but we remain committed to the inspiring and beautiful teachings that we believe the New Church has to offer - teachings that can show us the path to heaven through loving and useful lives.
